Mature Spread: 15 to 25 feet (4.6 to 7.6 meters) narrowly conical, upright branches     

Foliage: ¾ inch (1.9 cm) dark green, sometimes with a bluish hue

Growth Rate: Fast - 12 to 24 inches (30 to 61 cm) per year   

Common Ailments: None very serious

Preferred Soil: acidic, loam, moist, good adaptability 

Attributes: Being native to Ontario allows for good disease resistance and adaptability. Also very tolerate of humid and salty roadside conditions.  It is very similar to Black Hills Spruce, almost indistinguishable in youth, except that it is a much faster grower throughout it’s life span.
